If you are placing your rug on wooden or tiles floor then
Try not to get the rug wet. If you have plants do not stand on rug while watering. A damp rug could lead to dry rot or mildrew damage. If water does get onto the rug try and dry as soon as you can. Perhaps use a fan or hairdryer on cool.
Have your Oriental Rug and other wool area rugs treated for moths, carpet beetles, and destructive insects. Make sure you inspect as oftem as poosible for insect damage. Turn your rugs around every now and again so there will be even distribution of fading and wear on both sides.
Have any fraying tears or other damage repaired immediately. If a torn or damaged area is allowed to continue fraying, it can greatly decrease the beauty and value of your rug. |
